Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-28
We respect your privacy. Plain-English version first. Lawyer-language details under it.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run the service.
- Your files are private. Only you and the lawyer you choose can see them.
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- We don't use your documents to train AI models.
- You can download everything. You can delete everything. Any time.
What we collect
From you: your email, your name (if you give it), your intake answers, the files you upload, the messages you send our AI helpers, any donation you make (handled by Stripe; we never see your card number).
Automatically: your IP address, your browser type, and basic page-visit data so we can keep the site fast and detect attacks. We do not use third-party analytics that track you across the web.
From Telegram or WhatsApp (only if you connect them): the messages and files you send to our bot. Nothing else. We don't read your other chats, contacts, or groups.
How we use it
- To run the service you signed up for.
- To send you account emails (confirmation, password reset, status updates).
- To prepare your file for attorney review.
- To detect security threats and prevent abuse.
- To respond when you contact support.
We do not use your data to:
- Train AI models (yours or anyone else's).
- Sell to advertisers or data brokers.
- Send marketing not related to your account.
Who can see your file
- You. Always.
- A lawyer you invite. Only the lawyer(s) you specifically invite, and only at the access level you grant.
- A paralegal assigned to your claim. Only if you request paralegal review.
- 1776 Claims administrators for support and abuse detection. Every administrator access is audit-logged.
Where we store it
Your data lives in encrypted storage in the United States (Supabase, AWS infrastructure). Connections are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3). Files are stored in a private bucket with per-user paths so even a compromised claim ID can't reach another user's files.
How long we keep it
- Active accounts: as long as you want.
- After you delete: documents, intake, chat transcripts removed from active storage immediately. Backups roll off within 30 days.
- Audit logs: kept indefinitely (anonymized after account deletion) as required by reasonable business practice.
Your rights
- See it: request an export of everything we have on you.
- Fix it: correct any inaccurate information.
- Delete it: from Settings → delete account.
- Move it: export to PDF, DOCX, or ZIP and take it elsewhere.
- Object: opt out of any non-essential email or data use.
If you're in California, the EU, or any place with extra privacy laws, those laws apply to you too. We honor them.
Third-party services we use
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
- Anthropic — the AI helpers. We send only the data needed for the specific helper task. Anthropic's policy says they don't train on our API requests by default.
- Resend — sends our emails from
no-reply@1776.claims. - Stripe — processes donations. We don't see card numbers.
- Cloudflare — DNS.
- Hostinger — our server.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 18. If you're under 18, please don't sign up. If you're a parent and you think your child has signed up, email us at support@1776.claims and we'll close the account.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we'll email all active users. Smaller updates will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We are not a law firm. We do not give legal advice.
1776 Claims helps you organize your story, papers, damages, and timeline. The AI is a helper, not a lawyer. Before you send your file anywhere, a real lawyer needs to look at it. We are not the government. No payouts promised.
